USA Made Blacksmith Hand-Forged Shutter & Door ½” dia. Plate Pintles by Brandywine Valley Forge, 3 Sizes
This listing is for a pair of hand-forged steel pintles for use with strap hinges.
Available in several sizes, these pintles are handcrafted by the blacksmiths of Brandywine Valley Forge in Royersford, Pennsylvania.
The pintles attach to the structure and provide a pivot point on which the hinges swing.
All of the heavy duty pintles are fitted with 1 ½” tall, ½” diameter pins that mate with ‘N’ strap hinges (found at

).
Two styles are offered, 302-N and 303-N, the difference being the size of the steel backing plate.
The 302-N measures plate measures 1 ½” wide by 4” tall and the 303-N is 1” wide by 4 ¼” tall.
The only other differences in the three styles is the offset which is the distance from the backing plate to the outer edge of the pin.
The 302-N comes in 1 ½” and 1 ¾” offsets while the 303-N is available only in a 3” offset.
One pair of pintles will hold a shutter, door, or gate weighing up to 75 pounds.
These hand-forged exterior pintles are finished with a semi-gloss black electro-deposition coating, an automotive industrial finish used on under-car parts like alternator brackets and trailer hitches, metal pieces that are subjected to the harshest environments.
