    Description

I purchased this estate lot quite some time ago and have not looked through it since. From what I recall most of these letters are correspondence between a husband, W.P. Holloway, Brakeman for Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad Co. and his wife, Annie Holloway - mn Annie Bayerd - in Salem, Ohio. Letters are dated between the late 1890s (just one or maybe a few) to the 1930s. Annie appears to have been, at least in the late 1890s, the Secretary of the Y.P.S.C.E. Presbyterian Church in Salem. I also saw letters between Annie and her sister. Some of the later (1930s) letters were from the Holloway's son at Co 552 CCC, Camp F 125, La Canada, Cal. I'm sorry I packed the letters before looking for the son's name. I think it may have been Dan.
I don't remember much of what I read in these letters. Mostly, just your basic letters to home. I did see a handwrittten Women's Christian Temperance Union certificate for Mrs. Emma Holloway dated April 20, 1904. There was also a small handful of photographs including a tiny tintype and some now antique fabric pieces from sister to sister. Some of the letters from the husband were written on the backs of P&LE Railroad Forms. I did also see one unused P&LE luggage tag. I'm sure there may be a few other items of interest, but I can't say for sure.
From the estate of W. P. Holloway and Annie Holloway of Salem, Ohio and later Dickerson Run, Pennsylvania.
