Description

Imitation of large Sassanian silver drachms of Khushrau (7th cent. AD). Very stylized head of Khushrau facing right, degraded inscriptions/ Stylized fire altar with attendants on both sides. 14mm, 4.39 grams, thick. Early issue (from fairly decent silver). Mitchiner coins were minted in Northern India by the Rajput dynasties of Saurashtra and Gujarat and imitated the earlier Sassanian drachms
