    Description

    Struck at Omkara Monastery
    Obverse: Sassanian style bust
    Reverse: stylized fire altar with mint name-unusual feature at the time.
    Made after the large Sassanian silver drachms of Khushrau. Very stylized of Khushrau facing right, degraded inscription/Stylized fire altar with attendants on both sides. 14 mm, thick made of good silver - rare type, with a cross within the altar on the reverse. Early issue (not debased), VF, in an excellent condition. These coin were minted in northern India by the Rajput dynasties of Saurashtra and Gujarat and styled after the earlier Sassanian drachms.
